NEW TECHNICAL RESOURCES FROM COMPOSITE SOFTWARE
Three White Papers Describe Data Virtualization Usage and Achievable Business Benefits
SAN MATEO, CALIF. — August 3, 2009 – Composite Software, Inc., the data virtualization leader, today announced the availability of three new, complimentary white papers in its technical resource library, www.compositesw.com/devzone.
The three papers are titled: “Using Composite Data Virtualization to Facilitate Mergers and Acquisitions (M&As),” “Composite Data Virtualization for the Energy Industry,” and “Seven Ways Composite Data Virtualization Complements Enterprise Data Warehousing.”
In the white paper on M&As, Composite’s data virtualization is used to minimize interruption to day-to-day operations during the integration and rationalization of multiple corporate information systems. For example, data virtualization tools are used to create a virtual customer data hub that presents information from multiple sources, regardless of location or format, as a single view of a customer. Further, sales executives can use data virtualization’s discovery capability for finding customer information during the transition period when information resources are merged and de-duplicated.
“Composite Data Virtualization for the Energy Industry” focuses on the complexity of integrating the data from disparate information systems during the various phases of the energy process: exploration, production, refining and marketing. Several Composite energy customers have successfully deployed data virtualization to achieve increased revenues, lowered costs and reduced risks by successfully tapping data resources. The white paper offers concrete advice that may be applied by others facing comparable integration challenges.
The third white paper, “Seven Ways Composite Data Virtualization Complements Enterprise Data Warehousing,” identifies seven data integration problems and solutions that combine enterprise data warehouses and data virtualization. The problems range from accessibility of data outside the enterprise data warehouse plus the proliferation of data silos and data marts, to reducing data warehouse development times. Each of the seven problem/solutions features real-life case studies from among Composite Software’s customers.
